![]() 01 november 2008: launch of escamastudio.com After months of hard work, the Escama Studio site launched today! This project was a great learning experience, especially on the development side of things. Several pages feature combinations of Javascript and CSS to make the site more functional and interactive. more about escama studio » 28 july 2008: new homepage Beaducation needed more room for content on the homepage and a better placement of featured products and classes. It will soon also feature a Flash version of the online video classes so first time users can see the classes in motion on the homepage. more about beaducation » 06 july 2008: the next generation of product images When I first started on the Beaducation site redesign I made a large note to myself to "redo the product images eventually." There are so many incredible products for sale and the current images weren't showing them off well enough. Here's an example of an old product image: Large Wrap and Tap Plier. The lighting and shot angle are not ideal to show the details of this tool. (The project is ongoing so you will see many others like this still on the site.) Here is an example of a new product image: Coil Cutting Plier. The main image shows the purpose of the plier and the alternate views show the plier in use and in full view. Unfortunately the shopping cart application does not allow clickable alt views, but this workaround still gives clearer information about the product than the previous version. more about beaducation » 03 july 2008: overhaulin' In celebration of officially becoming a freelance designer, I decided to overhaul this portfolio site. The update was much needed and there's nothing quite like a fresh start! |
